Libraries

There are two libraries located in McKinlay Shire – one in Julia Creek and one in McKinlay.

Julia Creek Library

Open: Monday - Friday 9:00 am – 5.00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am - 12 noon - all year round.

Offers a range of adult fiction, non-fiction, DVDs, videos, CDs, magazines, audiobooks, children's books and children's DVDs. 

Membership is free to all shire residents. New members are always welcome. Members can borrow up to 10 items at one time, for 28 days. Loans can be renewed by visiting the library or via phone or email, providing another member does not require the item. 

If the library does not have the book or information you are looking for, the librarian can request it for you from the State Library of Queensland.

Public internet is FREE to all users - members and visitors.

Queensland's smallest public library with a range of adult and children's books. Public internet access is available. Membership is free to all shire residents.
