Online Catalogue Access

Julia Creek Library members are able to access the State Library of Queensland’s online catalogue. All you need is your library card number and your security pin - both available by visiting the library in person, phoning (07) 47467930 during business hours or emailing jclibrary@mckinlay.qld.gov.au

Through the online catalogue you can access:

  • eResources - online databases or download e-audiobooks and music.
  • Search - look for a title, favourite author, or subject.
  • Reserve - reserve items and they will be delivered to your library
  • Renew - haven’t finished reading the items you have on loan?
  • Suggestion - can’t find what you are looking for? Then ask for an item to be added to the collection.
  • Newly added items - don’t miss what has just been added to your library’s collection.

Here is a quick guide (PDF) on how to access the catalogue. Access the catalogue here - www.auroracloud.com.au/OPAC/QPIL/QPIL/Default.aspx

For instructions on how to access these books head to the SLQ website.

Lynda.com

Lynda.com is an e-learning subscription service that includes over 5,500 courses and over 136,000 video tutorials.  Topics include Windows 10, Office 365, Google Docs, photography, web development, marketing, IT, business management, and job seeking. Experts create and deliver all courses as well as provide supplemental materials like exercise files and relevant work samples.

SLQ members have free access to Lynda.com, both onsite at the State Library or offsite from your home, office or mobile device.

Everyone who accesses Lynda.com must create a personal account (a profile) in Lynda.com. This lets you track your progress, create playlists, take tests, and earn certificates.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Free training courses may be accessed only by using the State Library’s lynda.com login;  not by directly visiting the Lynda.com homepage. For step by step instructions on how to login please view: SLQ Lynda page.
