DRFA Program of works 2026
2026 DRFA Works Program
McKinlay Shire Council has activated the 2026 Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) program following the Queensland Monsoon Trough, Cyclone Koji, Cyclone Narelle and associated severe weather events commencing 24 December 2025.
These Disaster Recovery Projects are jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding to provide financial assistance for communities affected by disasters. In Queensland, the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA) administers the program, offering various relief measures depending on the severity of the disaster.
The 2026 DRFA program falls under Category B, which supports the restoration of essential public assets such as roads and other infrastructure.
Emergency Works
Emergency works inspections are currently underway across the road network.
Contractors are being progressively engaged and issued scopes of work to undertake repairs and restore safe access across affected areas. Works are being prioritised based on safety, and accessibility.
