Plumbing Permit

Permit Work must be performed by a licensed Plumber, and they must only perform the work as covered by their licence. A Standard Application for Permit Work must be lodged with Council for assessment and approval with mandatory inspections required prior to a Final Certificate being issued by Council's Plumbing Inspector. What is Plumbing and Drainage Work?

Plumbing and Drainage Work includes:

  1. Installing, changing, extending, disconnecting, removing, and maintaining plumbing and drainage systems
  2. On-site sewerage work, including domestic wastewater treatment and disposal systems.

What is Required to Lodge a Development Application for Plumbing and Drainage Works?

To lodge a properly made Development Application, applicants are required to provide:

  1. Completed Form 1(PDF, 204KB) .
  2. Completed Form 7.(PDF, 263KB) (where multiple plumbers are involved, each licensed plumber must complete a separate Form 7) with permit certificate
  3. Plans of development including:
    • Site and soil evaluation report
    • Site plan showing all existing and proposed buildings and structures
    • Floor plans
    • Elevation drawings (to scale)

For on-site sewerage systems, applicants must also provide:

  • An On-Site Sewerage Design and Report prepared by an appropriately qualified person
  • The design must comply with Australian Standard AS/NZS 1547:2012 – On-site Domestic Wastewater Management

 

How Do I Receive My Final Certificate?

Upon completion of the final inspection (Council requires sufficient notice for inspection), and where all works are found to be compliant and satisfactorily completed, Council will issue a Final Certificate.

The licensed plumber must also complete Form 6 (PDF, 142KB) and submit it to Council prior to the issue of the Final Certificate at the final stage.
