Julia Creek Early Learning Centre

1. Welcome

Julia Creek Early Learning Centre, operated by McKinlay Shire Council, provides high-quality early childhood education and care for children aged 12 months to school age. We are a one room centre catering for three age groups

We are a long day care service offering a Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program, supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing in a safe and nurturing environment.

2. About Our Service

At Julia Creek Early Learning Centre, we provide a play-based, child-centred program guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).

Our approach is influenced by Reggio Emilia principles, where children are viewed as capable, confident learners and active participants in their learning.

3. Our Programs

Nursery (12 months – 2 years)
Toddlers (2 – 3 years)
Kindergarten (3.5 – 5 years – Approved Kindergarten Program delivered by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher)

4. Educational Program

Our programs are guided by:

- Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
- Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG)
- National Quality Framework (NQF)

5. Hours of Operation

- Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
- Kindergarten operates during school terms (Tuesday to Thursday)

6. Fees

- Full Day: $124.00 per day per child
- Reduced Hours (8:30am – 2:30pm): $87.00 per day per child
- Term Fee: $5.00 per child per term

Child Care Subsidy (CCS) may apply for eligible families.

7. Enrolment Information

Families are encouraged to contact the service directly to arrange a tour, discuss availability, or join the waitlist.

8. Our Team

Our service is staffed by qualified educators, including a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher for the Kindergarten program.

The safety and wellbeing of children is our highest priority.
The service operates in accordance with:
- Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations
- National Quality Framework (NQF)
- Queensland Government requirements
