Arts & Culture Grants

The Regional Arts Development Program (RADF) is a partnership between Queensland Government and McKinlay Shire Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland. For further information please contact the RADF Liaison Officer on 4746 7166, the RADF Committee or visit the Arts Queensland Website. The RADF program has changed to align more with the needs of our community. Hence there are new funding categories which will lead to exciting local projects.

Current RADF Funding

The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a state and local government partnership that supports local artists and arts and cultural activities in Queensland communities.

For McKinlay Shire Council the Program makes arts and cultural activities more accessible for residents that otherwise wouldn’t occur due to distance from major centres.

The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is delivered as a partnership between the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and eligible local councils across the State.

RADF promotes the role and values of arts, culture and heritage as key drivers of diverse and inclusive communities and strong regions.  RADF invests in local arts and cultural priorities, as determined by local communities, across Queensland. RADF is a flexible fund, enabling council to tailor RADF programs to suit the needs of their communities.

Council hosts a Community Grants Program where all applications submitted to the RADF Committee will be assessed and reviewed on a case-by-case basis. For applications under $5,000, the committee will implement its standard Quick Response approval process. For applications exceeding $5,000, the committee will hold a meet to discuss the project’s value for money, community benefit/outcomes and impact on remaining funding.
