Early Childhood Teacher/2IC - rolling advert
Council is seeking responsible and creative applicants for the position of full time Early Childhood Teacher and 2IC at Julia Creek Early Learning Centre (ELC). The ECT/2IC will assist the Director to oversee ELC staff and lead the design and implementation of both a Kindergarten program and long day care program in accordance with the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and Early Years Learning Framework. The successful applicant will be able to plan for the individual needs of the children within their room, implementing the planning cycle, collaborating with families to develop an enriched learning environment for the children in their room.
Parks and Gardens Labourer - Applications close Monday 21 September 2018
Council seeks to employ a capable and reliable Labourer. Applicants should possess the skills to undertake required manual duties associated with maintenance/construction of the Shires Parks and Gardens. These duties will be performed within the operation of Council’s Works Department under direct supervision. Applicants must hold a current drivers licence and a Construction Induction Card (White/Blue Card).
Desired applicants will possess the following skills and qualifications, or be willing to obtain:
• Knowledge of hand tool operation;
• Basic knowledge of horticultural requirements
• Competent level of skills in job related labour and construction techniques;
• Competent level of tool equipment handling;

Work Health & Safety Officer - Applications Close Friday 28 September 2018
McKinlay Shire Council seeks to employ a full-time Work Health & Safety Officer.
This position is designed to assist in the implementation and coordination of Council’s Safety Management System in accordance with legislative requirements and Council Policies. The Officer will be required to identify and analyse risks as well as potential risks, and develop additional policies, procedures and work practices to meet Council’s legislative requirements, along with relevant Australian Standards.
The Council is primarily aiming to employ a Work health & Safety Officer with a broad knowledge base and the ability to develop skills within Risk Management
The selection panel will look favourably towards applicants who hold a preferred minimum education of Grade 12 or equivalent, in addition qualifications and/or demonstrated experience within OHS, Workplace Training & Assessment and Risk Management.
Remuneration will be based on the Queensland Local Government Industry Award State 2017 and Council’s current Enterprise Bargaining Agreement dependant on qualifications and experience.
