Old HACC Centre

Julia Creek Civic Centre

The Civic Centre features a newly refurbished hall and stage, outdoor deck, new kitchen and bar servery, this facility is suitable for hosting large functions - up to 200 people. The Supper Room is a smaller meeting room with access to a built-in projector, and is adjacent to kitchen facilities. The Supper Room would comfortably fit up to ~20 people for meetings, training, small functions etc. 

Julia Creek Smart Hub

The Smart Hub is located at the old site of the Julia Creek Medical Centre (56 Burke Street) and features all your digital needs, i.e. public use computers, wi-fi and printing as well as a kitchenette for tea and coffee. For those wanting a private meeting or video conferencing, hiring is available of the office or boardroom of this facility; both each contain a digital white-board panel. For more details about this new facility, contact our Community Services Team Leader.

Fr Bill Busuttin Community Centre

Council's Community Nurse and CHSP Coordinator operate from this facility. The Community Centre area features two multi-purpose spaces and two small office style consulting rooms (includes a desk), often used by visiting health services. The Centre's main meeting space in carpeted and has access to a built-in projector. This area adjoins the commercial kitchen space and can open up to the outdoor BBQ area. This meeting space can comfortably seat/table ~25 people or ~50 seated for small to medium functions. The other adjoining meeting space is normally reserved for our CHSP program, this area has vinyl flooring and can comfortably seat ~15 people.

Julia Creek CSA Building and Kev Bannah Oval

The Julia Creek Combined Sporting Association (CSA) Building is a clubhouse facility that backs onto a sporting field, in Kev Bannah Oval. The CSA Building features an open space with kitchen and bar serving facilities. The building opens up onto an outdoor deck, perfect for viewing sport on the oval. There is also a small kids playground outside and the Nerida Currin Skate Park. This facility can host meetings to ~25 people, however, there are no projector / computer facilities on site (these can be hired separately - setup not included). The CSA Building is commonly used for community events and private functions such as birthdays.

Julia Creek Indoor Sports Centre

The Julia Creek Indoor Sports Centre is a fully shaded multi-sports court that is marked for netball, basketball, volleyball, tennis and cricket. Toilet and shower amenities are available. Sporting equipment is also available for hire. Adjacent to the Sports Centre are two newly laid tennis courts with synthetic grass.

McIntyre Park

Located in Julia Creek, McIntyre Park houses the towns campdrafting arena. The location features the Robert Lord Shed, a large undercover area with a bar and catering servery. This facility is used for large community functions 100-300 people. There is a new kids playground next to the Race Club area, that can be viewed from the shed area.

Jan Eckford Centre

Newly refurbished in 2017, the Jan Eckford Centre is a creative space that includes an art gallery and workshop area for activities for both adults and children. The area includes a small kitchenette and tv facilities. The Jan Eckford Centre is located on Julia St in Julia Creek, behind the Julia Creek Civic Centre.

Crafty Old School House

The Crafty Old School House is a community facility located in Wylde St, McKinlay. The Crafty Old School House is utilised for community meetings and activities and includes a kitchenette. 

Transport & Equipment

Council has a range of equipment available for hire from chairs & tables to projectors and PA systems. Some items can only be used on-site within Council facilities, others can be used for community or private functions.

Council has two different sized buses available for hire. Please ensure these are booked well in advance. Note - Council does not provide a driver.
