Tenders are now being called for the sale of 72 Coyne Street, Julia Creek.

This tender is closing at 5:00pm, Monday the 10th April 2018.


The Tender must be:

(a) if hand delivered or posted:

(i) placed in a sealed envelope marked "72 Coyne Street, Julia Creek Tender";

(ii) if posted, lodged in the post office box of Keir Steele Lawyers, PO Box 1015, Townsville QLD 4810 so that it is received by the Closing Date; or

(iii) if hand delivered, delivered to Keir Steele Lawyers office at Townsville - Level 1, 131 Denham Street, Townsville QLD 4810.

(b) if sent by facsimile, faxed to 07 4772 5635 with a cover page noting that the submission relates to 72 Coyne Street Julia Creek Tender and marked to the attention of Matthew Keating/Gerard Meade; or

McKinlay Shire Council Housing Project, Julia Creek Qld

McKinlay Shire Council have been successful in obtaining external funding assistance which has allowed the Council to undertake a Housing Project for the design and construction of 2 x two bedroom units and 2 x four bedroom houses within the town of Julia Creek Qld.

It is the Council’s intention to obtain prices for the delivery of the following housing options;

  • 2 x Two bedroom units to be built on LOT 9 JC55711 – Shaw Street, Julia Creek QLD 4823
  • 1 x Four Bedroom house to be built on LOT 3 SP278219 – Netterfield Street, Julia Creek QLD 4823
  • 1 x Four Bedroom house to be built on LOT 4 SP278219 – Netterfield Street, Julia Creek QLD 4823

The contract is a design and construct contract and Council has provided detailed specifications and requirements for each house which have been included within the Tender Documents.

The housing supplier/builder will be responsible for the all planning and certification approvals and all items within the buildings must comply with applicable legislative codes, standards and/or requirements as a minimum. If there missing information from the specific requirements or specification then it is expected that industry standard practice ensuring best fit-for-purpose is to be allowed for.

A Local Government must, as soon as practicable after entering into a contractual arrangement worth $200,000 or more (exclusive of GST),  publish the relevant details of the contractual
arrangement on the local government’s website; and display the relevant details of the contractual arrangement in a conspicuous place in the local government’s public office.

The relevant details must be published or displayed under subsection (1)  Section 237 of the Local Government Regulation 2012 for a period of at least 12 months.
