McKinlay Shire has one airport located in Julia Creek. The aerodrome was certified by Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) on 20 June 2008.

Public air services with Westwing Aviation operate three days per week between Julia Creek and Mount Isa and Julia Creek and Townsville.

Private planes are also welcome.
