Background:
Paul has been Mayor of the McKinlay Shire since 2004. His actual involvement with local government first began in 2000 when he was first elected to council and also elected Deputy Mayor. A grazier, Paul was born in Brisbane and educated by Correspondence School at home as well as Boarding School in Charters Towers and now lives on the family's Beef Cattle Station north of Julia Creek. Paul has been involved with many organisations over the years and is currently a member of the North Queensland Ministerial Forum, Chair of the North West Regional Roads Group, Co Chair of the North West Regional Co Ordination Committee and Chair of the North West Mesquite Pilot Project. A self confessed historian of limited ability, Paul remains inspired by the shires past, its people today and its place in the future.  Paul is married to Margaret and they have three sons.

Phil has lived in Julia Creek for 15 years as owner/manager of the Julia Creek IGA supermarket. He is involved in the Lions Club and Shooting Club. Phil is a newly elected Councillor.

Background:
John was born in Townsville and moved to McKinlay Shire in 1946. John, a grazier, was educated at the Queensland Correspondence School at home, as well as boarding school in Charters Towers. John moved to his current cattle property "Cremona Downs" in May 1967 and married Margo in June 1968. John and Margo have two children, Jennifer and David. John is currently on the committee for Sedan Dip Sporting Association and a member of the Julia Creek Turf Club. John was elected to Council in 1991.

Background:
Wendy has lived on a cattle property near McKinlay for the past 22 years and is a newly elected Councillor. Wendy helps to manage the family cattle enterprise and is involved with many different community groups working with Health, Education & Recreation. Wendy is married to Jim and has three children.
